Tu B’Shevat

Tu B’Shevat is a Jewish holiday occurring on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Shevat. It is also called Rosh HaShanah La’Ilanot, literally ‘New Year of the Trees’.

In contemporary Israel, the day is celebrated as an ecological awareness day, and trees are planted in celebration.

We enjoyed a week of activities ‘getting ready’. Where we designed a display poster about the festival using collage fruits.

It looked really good once it was finished and hung on the wall. Don’t you agree?

Fruit based activities have included: Guess the unusual fruit.

There was also Smoothie making, Fruit kebabs and making a fruit flan using the unusual fruit!
