Burns Day

We had a great time getting ready for Burns Day.

The dining room was decorated with all sorts of Scottish things, including some hand made Loch Ness monsters, and posters depicting the story of Robert Burns, copies of his poetry and photos of Scotland.

Then on the day there was a Scottish Feast! Complete with Scottish hats for all to wear!!

A ‘hot toddy’ was served as an appetizer!

This sparked much hilarity as Maurice decided to sing “Johnny where’s your trousers” complete with actions! He’s quite the joker!

Haggis, mash and neaps luncheon was served, which proved very popular to all those who had it.

This was followed by Cranachan, a traditional Scottish dessert which is served with shortbread, YUM!

We used the ‘tablet’ to watch some traditional piping in of the haggis and Scottish dancing which was all very interesting.
