Aims and Objectives:
1. Provide a high quality of service that makes Ealing House the number one independently owned care home of choice in the area. This will be underpinned by providing caring, competent, fully engaged and trained staff.
This will be achieved by: (i) Employment of staff who share our values and help to create a “home from home” (ii) A meaningful staff development program. (iii) Providing comprehensive training resources |
2. Our home will have an open approach to providing services that meet the aspirations of those living and working within the home. This will be achieved by:
(i) The operating of a robust and effective care plan system (ii) Listening to the views and opinions of all stakeholders (iii) Ensure that assessments take account of balancing responsible risk taking and needs |
3. Our home will offer catering services that satisfy service users’ needs and expectations. This will be achieved by:
(i) Providing menus that are varied to include choices and wishes of service users (ii) Providing menus that are nutritionally balanced. (iii) Providing a level of choice that allows service users to vary their food choices (iv) Monitoring and reacting to changing dietary needs.

4. Our home will be regarded as a safe and secure environment for residents and staff. This will be achieved by:
(i) Ensuring the whole environment complies with all current Health and Safety requirements (ii) Ensuring a strong safety culture within the staff through relevant training (iii) Providing service users with safe and secure areas to store possessions (iv) Ensuring that procedures relating to abuse, human rights and dignity of service users are full complied with at all times. This compliance will be audited on a regular basis.

5. Our home will provide a range of activities that provide enjoyment and stimulation to those service users wishing to participate. We will achieve this by:
(i) Ensuring that each service user is offered activities that are appropriate to their needs and abilities. (ii) Ensuring that service users do not feel compelled to participate in activities. (iii) Organising themed events relevant to the local area e.g. open days/participating in the village fair. |
6. Our home will allow service users and/or others acting on their behalf the opportunity to be involved in planning and review of services provided. This will be achieved by:
(i) Actively encouraging service users to be involved in decisions that affect how the service is provided. (ii) Carrying out service user satisfaction surveys (iii) Holding service user meetings and minuting outcomes (iv) Reviewing service user feedback and minutes at staff meetings |
Description of Our Location
Ealing House Residential Care Home is a privately owned, seventeen bedded home, it is owned by Vince and Jenny Ewing and managed on a full time basis by Christina Antill.
The service offers residential care for service users over the age of 65 who may or may not be suffering with dementia.
Respite and day care services can also be provided.
Situated centrally in the village of Martham, Norfolk, there is easy access via road or regular public transport.
Local shops are within 2 minutes walk.
Accommodation includes 13 single rooms, and 2 twin rooms. 12 bedrooms are equipped with en suite wet room / w.c.
Facilities include: 3 lounges; sun room; dining room; hairdressing room; enclosed patio garden. Each room has a TV aerial point, individual phone lines can also be provided.
Services include: Regular visits from G.P’s and community nurses. There are also regular visits by the chiropodist and the hairdresser. In house eye checks are also routinely carried out.
Organised activities take place each day.
All rooms are fully furnished but residents are encouraged to bring in items of their own furniture and personal possessions.
The home has all the required equipment such as bath lifts and hoists. There are also two stair lifts.
Our team of staff are fully trained in all aspects of care and we actively encourage their personal development.
