There was much excitement around the home as Angela (one of our carer’s) wedding was fast approaching! We decided to throw a surprise bridal shower for her. This is a Canadian tradition and is similar to a ‘hen night’. However there was a twist to this event as we wanted Kevin (her husband to be) to come along. This meant that in fact it was open to everyone! Not just HENS!!!
The residents wanted to give the happy couple a ‘personal’ gift, and they decided to decorate a flower pot and fill it with plants. They were aware that the colour theme for the wedding was going to be purple and white, so they chose flowers to match.
There was a gold band painted around the top of the pot (wedding band) then everyone painted their fingers prints around the pot.
Angela and Kevin’s names and date of their wedding was then added. Once dried, it was filled with soil and planted up in readiness for the wedding, and how lovely it looked.
The wedding day went off beautifully, even being blessed with lovely sunny weather to wish the bride and groom many Congratulations.
Hope you like this selection of photos taken over this time.
