Martham Bowl’s Club
Ealing House Residential Care Home in Martham were delighted to welcome Norfolk County Bowls President Gary Hewitt, and County Chairman John Hudson to their sports themed quiz night.
Gary is almost at the end of his yearlong presidency during his reign he has organised some fund raisers, with proceeds this year chosen to go to Ealing House. He chose the home as he knows many of the residents there, some of whom were retired players for the bowls club.
In July he invited staff and residents to the Bowls Club, where they not only watched a match, but had a go for themselves. Following which they were given afternoon tea. It was immensely successful and will be repeated next summer.
Following the quiz and refreshments John, Gary and his wife Karen) presented a cheque for £1315 to Vince and Jenny Ewing (owners) Christina Anthill (Manager) and Elaine Southern (Activities Coordinator)
The money raised will go directly into the resident’s fund, enabling them to enjoy a wide variety of activities and outings.
In response, Vince said, “Huge thanks from the home, it is truly appreciated. Thank you for choosing us, the money will really add to the quality of activities that take place”.
