We took Wally and Harry out for the morning on a visit to the life boat museum and boat shed in Caister on Sea. Once again we were blessed with lovely weather.
It was also a great opportunity to take Gertie the bear!!
We began our visit with a look at the currant boats that are used for emergencies and learnt that Caister has the fastest lifeboat in the UK. there are two life boats. The inshore and the all weather rescue boat.
We then went to the museum shed where we were delighted to meet Percy who founded the museum. He chatted away telling us how it all began with some disused items which seemed a shame to throw away!
He is now 85 and still volunteers to this day.
We really enjoyed all the interactive displays and were even able to try on some helmets!
Thankfully we had time for a much needed cup of tea before heading back for lunch.
