Chinese New Year

Home/Uncategorized/Chinese New Year

The Chinese calendar is based on the lunar year, so the date of Chinese New Year changes every year. The Chinese calendar follows a 12 – year pattern with each year named after an animal.

This year it was the year of the horse.

Who do we know with a horse?

Christina of course!!

So we enlisted her services;  requesting that she came down to Ealing House on Millie,(her horse). The children from Jenny & Sara’s Childminding services also came along to meet Millie. They were delighted to be able to take turns to sit on her, and feed her apples, carrots and bread.

The residents gathered in the lounges to watch what was going on. What a lovely start to our Chinese celebrations.

Then we held a Chinese Lunch. We had all sorts of  Chinese delights.

Starters: Spring rolls, Prawn Toast, Wantons, & prawn crackers served with a sweet chilli dip.

Main Course: Sweet & Sour Chicken, Lemon Chicken, Chow mien, and rice.

Dessert: Lychee sundae

Needless to say, there had been many preparations before hand, which resulted in the dining room being beautifully decorated for the occasion
