We held our first Ealing House Coffee Morning of the year on Thursday 10th April. We had the raffle on the go for two weeks previous; and the residents had been busy making various things, and getting their Easter bonnets ready to wear.
Joyce (94) had kindly made a Happy/Sad doll, which was adorable. It was decided that the best way to raise money from this wonderful effort was to hold a ‘Guess the Name’. This proved very popular indeed with all names on the board being ‘sold’. The name then picked out of the hat was Evelyn!
We thought that it would be fun to stay with the Easter theme, especially as it was the Easter Holidays and there were children about; so we got The Easter Bunny to come along. There was a trail of carrots placed around the home for the children to follow, with a sign to say where he was hiding!
Wow, what a HUGE success it was. We raised a Staggering £544.75!
Thank you to each and every person who kindly supported us. All the money raised will go towards the many activities which take place here at Ealing House. Forth coming activities will include, planting the tubs and hanging baskets. St George’s Day, The Scare Crow Festival (May 4th and 5th), Reminiscence; and pampering! So something for ALL to enjoy!
