We had two February birthdays, Rosa French and Joyce Willcox.
Rosa spent the day in the company of her family, thoroughly enjoying herself as you can see.
Rosa’s birthday was closely followed by Joyce, who celebrated her 95th. Below is the piece which went into the paper.
Happy Birthday Dear Joyce
Ealing House Residential Home in Martham had much to celebrate as one of their resident’s Joyce Willcox celebrated her 95th birthday, along with her family and friends.
Joyce has been an active member of the Martham community for the last 43years having moved here in 1972 from Leeds, with her husband Vic. She went on to work in the Martham mushroom farm.
She was made Verger of St Mary’s church for 25years, and to this day still attends church most weeks. She continues to raise money for the church by knitting toys being especially famous for her knitted nativity sets.
In fact Joyce enjoyed all things to do with Martham. She was secretary of The Women’s British Legion for 20 years; she played in the short mat bowls team; and went sequence dancing!
