This session was on shops associated with Martham. We are fortunate to have Daphne Tungate with us; not only did she have a shop in the village her family also had the scales that she used inside it.
We were able to arrange for these to be delivered to the home and having quarantined them and cleaned them down we were able to recreate a sweet shop/general store for the afternoon.
As you can see it looked wonderful and sparked many a conversation and memory.
To finish the session everyone got to go to the shop to weigh out some sweets to take away with them.
