We certainly entered into the spirit of the Queens 90th Birthday celebrations.
We decided to hold a ‘Street Party’ indoors! and an ‘Open Day’ which also co-incided with the national care homes open day.
So we needed to get planning!!!!
We came up with all sorts of activity sessions which would go on to make Ealing House all decorated up in red white and blue splendor!
We thought that we would create our very own Queen Elizabeth 2 along with her corgis and soldiers.
These were made out of ply wood and required covering in various different textiles. They took many activity sessions to complete, but as you can see were well worth the effort.
Another creation was that of the floral arrangements using red white and blue artificial flowers.
The arrangements made were wonderful and have been much admired by all our many visitors.
The EALING HOUSE letters which had been created for the outside front railings were modified, they had been white letters, with green and yellow pom poms. These were changed to red and blue pom poms, so these all needed to be made and glued in place.
Colouring sessions produced some lovely Queen related pictures which we displayed on the windows for all to see.
You can see for yourself hoe clever everyone is.
