What a great time we had getting ready for this year’s Scarecrow festival.
The theme was simple, with the Coronation a week later our scarecrows had to be ‘camping out’ in anticipation!
With the addition of a souvenir seller scarecrow too.
With Elaine and Brenda our volunteers ‘prepped’ and ready with their knitting needles, we made a start in early March!
We managed to get hold of an old dolls pram, and Malcolm and Elaine renovated it. It really did have an amazing transformation.
Wellbeing activity sessions included dressing the scarecrows, making things to go in the shop, and preparing the Royal Crown.
It was busy, busy, busy!
The festival is held over two days. This year there were stalls both days. in the driveway. It made it even more social, if that can be at all possible!
The second day there was a cake stall organised by Kelly. The residents helped her to sell cakes, and raised an amazing £303 for the resident’s fund. WELL DONE.
