Not only did we hold a St George’s Day celebration on the 23rd April, we also had a week long ‘Great British Menu’ For this everyone was asked what dishes immediately sprung to mind when we mentioned ‘British’, and from this a menu was compiled.
On St George’s Day we held a pre-lunch war time sing along with old favourites like Vera Lyn. To help with our voice’s there was a glass of sherry of course!
There were some British themed quizzes and words earches to complete for those who wished to take part.
This was followed by a Roast Beef dinner, and a Sherry trifle (is there a different theme to this day, I ask myself!!)
Following a restful afternoon a vintage tea was served using our newly acquired bone china tea sets. All VERY POSH!
