The preparations for the Marie Curie coffee morning began last year!
The children from Jenny and Sara’s childminding services received their pack from Marie Curie who were holding a ‘mini pots of care appeal’.This contained everything required to grow 30 pots of daffodils.
So these were planted and carefully looked after. As they came into bloom it was time to raise some money!
It was decided to use Ealing House as the venue for a coffee morning, to involve young and old alike and invitations were sent to relatives, children’s parents and staff.
Not only were there Coffee, cakes, and daffodils for sale; we thought that we’d give everyone a challenge, with some daffodil themed activities to complete during the morning.
We invited the Mayor John Burroughs to come along to see what we’d been doing. He kindly accepted our invitation arriving with his wife the Mayoress Jenny Burroughs. They stayed chatting to the children, residents and staff for an hour.
During the morning a fantastic £146.18 was raised. Thank you for your support.
