We were delighted to be able to book to go onboard The Waveney Stardust once again. It’s been three years since there was an opportunity to book to go, so we made the most of it and booked 2!
The weather was fantastic on both occasions. The crew were amazing, very helpful and informative. Passing on their local knowledge of the River Yare and what they knew about the birds, boats, and housing along the way.
We learnt that the Norfolk name for a heron is ‘Harnser’. (So we’ll be able to impress our friends!!)
We set off from Brundall and went up to Norwich on the first trip, and down to Cantley on the second.
Both were very interesting, and very different. We were lucky to see a wealth of bird life which included 4 Kingfishers, marsh harriers, geese, gulls, cormorants, grebe’s and ducks to name a few!
We moored up for a picnic lunch each time enjoying our surroundings at the same time.
It was all over way too soon. We are looking forward to booking up again for next year.
Take a look at the photos to see how lovely it was.
Thank you to all the staff and crew for giving the residents such a wonderful time.
